PETER LAVAC, a Sydney lawyer, fitness fanatic and champion surf skier, is taking legal action against his neighbours (who smoke), the owners corpration and the strata management company who all, he claims, failed to stop the cigarette smoke adversely affecting his health.
The issue again draws attention to owners corporations’ and strata managers’ responsibilities within strata schemes.

The NSW governemnt has announced it will cease giving stamp duty benefits to first home buyers of second-hand properties as of 1 January 2012.
First home buyers may still receive a $7,000.00 cash grant (if eligible) but will have to purchase new properties to be eligible for stamp duty assistance.
